Overview
From being a new apprentice an older boy became an improver then after he had done his best ever work (his master piece) he was almost a 'master craftsman'. With many crafts, he had to be a journey man - earning a living from his craft where ever he went - for a year and a day, before becoming a 'Master in his Craft'. All he would have was his ‘bag of tricks’ (tools and equipment) and some clothes hanging from his Travelling Stave over his other shoulder. Dick Whittington was the most famous 'Journey Man' in British Folk History.
110cm/43" long approx.
